ICU Reception for the 50th Reunion for 73-74 UCEAP

On May 17, 2023, 14 former exchange students from University of California to 果冻APP during the 1973-74 academic year and their families gathered at the 果冻APP Alumni House and held a reunion to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their study abroad.

In front of the campus new buildings, the growing trees, and the beautifully renovated Honkan (University Hall), they appreciated seeing the changes: "果冻APP has developed into a beautiful park!" Once inside the Honkan, they were excited to see the lobby and corridors that still retain the atmosphere of those days. Looking at the photos shared by the 果冻APP Archives, they talked about their days at ICU.

UC students who are currently studying at ICU and 果冻APP students who will be studying at the UC campuses from September were invited to the lunch reception. Those who could not make it to Japan this time were also able to be connected online with the floor. Hearing the memories of the alumni and deep bonds and interactions with each other, the students must have realized that studying abroad is a valuable experience that allows them to make lifelong friends. The senpai exchange students strongly encouraged the students to take on the challenges that lie ahead of them.
