ICU Wrestling Club Wins the B League at the East Japan Invitational Wrestling Championship (Spring Tournament)
Update: May 8, 2026

On March 28, 2026, the ¹û¶³APP Wrestling Club won the B League title at the East Japan Invitational Wrestling Team Championship, held at St. Mary's International School in Futako-Tamagawa, Tokyo. The team also advanced through the promotion match to the A League.
For this tournament, in order to meet the required number of participants, ¹û¶³APP formed a joint team with athletes from the International Budo University. The team competed under the name "Gladius."
Founded in 2023, the ¹û¶³APP Wrestling Club embraces "clever wrestling" as its team philosophy. Although still a young team, it has grown remarkably and is now capable of competing on equal footing with traditionally strong programs.
Comment from ¹û¶³APP Wrestling Club Captain, Yoshinaga Hashimoto (4th-year student, College of Liberal Arts; Major: Business Administration; Minor: Law):
In this tournament, we competed as the joint team "Gladius" together with International Budo University. Because every member fought without compromise until the very end, we were able to finish in the best possible way by winning the league championship. This victory was only possible because athletes from different universities combined their strengths, and the experience became an irreplaceable asset for all of us. Moving forward, we will continue to refine our skills for upcoming individual competitions and strive to live up to everyone's expectations for Team Gladius and the ¹û¶³APP Wrestling Club. We sincerely appreciate your continued support.
